Revealing the Person
I want my portraits to display the nature of watercolor. I like the texture of the brushstrokes to show on the face. Overall, the brushstrokes come together with the subject's personality to create a full portrait. The running and dripping shapes on the shirt and background give movement and rhythm. I love the freedom of allowing the unexpected to happen. At the same time there is no room for large mistakes! I am excited as I see a portrait coming together to speak for the subject and even go beyond what is presently seen in a person's face.
